Thankful

Thanksgiving is a highlight each year.
Good food, friends and family, and taking time to be grateful for all that you have been blessed with.

This year we were able to spend our Thanksgiving break down in Orange County with our good friends the Hada's. We had a great time catching up and watching the girls  - and their dads - play and play and play! Aimee is expecting #3 and was put on bed rest the day we arrived. So she and I spent a lot of time just sitting and chatting, which was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable!
Kylan and Rich met as missionaries in Costa Rica and became instant friends. Following their missions they lived together at BYU and my first date with Kylan was a double with Rich and Aimee. Since then we've enjoyed a trip to Costa Rica and a family trip to Disneyland - they are great friends and excellent travel partners! Kylan and Rich got up early to surf each day and could have stayed out all day! The forecast for the weekend called for 80+ and we were all looking forward to a nice warm day at the beach. Unfortunately, the fog never cleared and the temperature never cleared 70, let alone 80! It was a much cooler day than we planned on, but it didn't seem to bother the kids or the dads in the slightest! So Aimee and I snuggled up in our beach chairs to chat and watch everyone enjoy the beach. This year's new toy of choice - for the dads - were the little hand planes you see above. They are used for body surfing and created a lot of excitement - including Kylan's determination to make a few of our own!
Thanksgiving dinner we spent with the whole Hada clan. The girls were able to sit at the "big kid" table, complete with their own centerpiece and individual Oreo turkeys - which were even more exciting than the pie! A side note about eating Thanksgiving dinner with a Japanese family - turkey with sticky rice and gravy is actually pretty tasty!
Craft time! Pine cone turkeys with pipe-cleaner feathers. Lili was in heaven - her artistic skills put to great use!
The day after Thanksgiving we spent an evening at the big mall in Irvine. We enjoyed a tasty dinner at Cheesecake Factory then some shopping. These cute and crazy girls were very self-entertaining at the Vans store. Who knew skate boards could be ridden in so many different ways!

A huge hanks to the Hada's for such a fun Thanksgiving weekend!

Those girls together are the cutest. Thanks for keeping up with your blog updates! Seems like most of the people I know who started blogs 5-6 years ago let them die in 2010. It was fun to see some pictures of the Hadas. :)
