Stanford Football fans really know how to tailgate. For the past two football seasons we've admired the motorhomes, BBQ's and flag-covered sun shades full of Cardinal-clad fans. Last year we decided to try out the GSB-sponsored tailgate party and lasted about 5 minutes until the smoke, alcohol and profane music reminded us that it wasn't exactly a family friendly event! So this year we decided to take matters into our own hands and host our own LDS family tailgating party for the last home game of the season.
Thanks to the enthusiastic support we got from family and friends it was a huge success!
For memories sake, we had: Matt, Lindsey and Bailey Bauman, Rodney and Kylee Dial, Jeremy, Natalie and Kaitlyn Gibb, Brittany, Elias and Summer Erickson, Stephen, Heather and Daniel Richards, Keshia, Kyla and Bennet Meikle, Sadie, Henry and Mama Pope, Josh, Kelly and Eva Jaramillo, Whitney, Kevin Satchel and Eero Bills and the Lundeens.
Kylan and Matt really made the party by hauling the BBQ in the back of the truck to our spot. The freshly grilled hotdogs were amazing (especially when topped with gourmet sauerkraut, pickles, tomatoes, etc.), and the music blasting out of the trucks speakers provided the perfect party atmosphere.
Kevin secured us a spot on the grass field which was perfect with all the kids. We created a barricade with the tables, chairs and strollers to keep the crawlers and toddlers safe from the cars driving by, while still letting the bigger kids have lots of room to play. Satchel brought this baseball set and Kylan had a lot of fun introducing the girls to baseball. They were both pretty good at connecting with the ball and incredibly proud when they did!
We were having so much fun tailgating that we didn't get to the game until well into the second quarter! It's always fun to watch some good college football and it was the perfect way to end our Stanford football experience.
