Hobble Creek Canyon Campout

As our "welcome back to UT" activity, we planned a campout with our good friends the Kings, LeBarons, Robinsons, Lees and Jardines. It was such a fun way to catch up after two years of living away and the best part is that in some ways it felt like we had never been gone. The kids all picked up right where they left off and played as if they had been friends for years and the adults stayed up far later than we should have sitting around the campfire talking and telling stories - the best part of any campout!

The girls just love to camp and besides the s'mores, one of their favorite aspects is setting up the tent with dad. I just love that Kylan has the patience to enjoy teaching the girls about new things instead of just hurrying and doing it himself. They learn new things and we all gain even greater adoration for their dad with each outing!

The morning after the campout, Kylan spent hours playing with the kids and organizing them into different games and activities. We played Red, Red Rover,  Freeze Tag, and then he sent the kids to tackle all their parents. It was so funny to see the different reactions!

Photo op attempt #1 - a respectable pyramid, but we couldn't get any of the kids to look at the camera!

Photo op attempt #2 - more faces looking at the camera and lots of smiles, I'll call this one a success!
