| Liliahna the ballerina, Meghan aka Snow White, Satchel and Eero "dem bones", and Serelle the bumblebee |
Halloween was pretty magical this year.
It was our first time being on our own and we tried to make the most of it.
We carved pumpkins, dressed up, roasted pumpkin seeds, had hot wassail, and even bought our very own bowl of candy for the trick or treaters! As always, the holiday was made much better by the friends and family who shared it with us. Lili and Serelle were so excited to have their cousins, Satchel and Eero come with us - as well as one of their favorite new friends...Meghan. Meghan and her fiance are here at the GSB as well and they are just the best. We love making new friends - especially friends who will dress up in princess costumes with our girls!
Even though Kylan was in the middle of midterms - he literally had a midterm the day after Halloween...who does that?!?! - he took a couple of hours off from studying to carve pumpkins and trick or treat with us. What would we do without dads?
This year's jack-o-lantern design team consisted of Kylan and Liliahna. Lili was in charge of the design for the pumpkin on the right. She wanted eyes and scary teeth. She started the pumpkin on the left then turned it over to dad. Who of course, had to throw in the crossbones for the mouth!
The finished product!
And yes - you can go trick or treating in a leotard in California...it's amazing!
Unfortunately we did not get a single picture of the actual trick or treating...darn iPhone doesn't do well in the dark, but as you can see the girls got quite a stash of candy! Serelle was especially proud of her ability to eat two suckers at the same time! What a silly girl!
One of our other good friends came over to do a second round of trick or treating with us. She brought her dog Sadie - who also happened to be dressed as a bumblebee - but unfortunately poor Sadie was terrified of the kids in their costumes and we weren't able to get a picture of the two little bees together!
All in all, a very fun and successful Halloween!
