California here we come!

After a fun, busy and HOT summer in Phoenix, we were ready to move on to our final stage of the journey to Business School. 750 miles to go!
We were lucky to have Kade come with us. He took turns riding with Kylan in the Penske or me and the girls in our truck. We always loved when it was our turn to have Kade right with us. The music was better, the snacks came more frequently, and the movies were changed quickly!

Serelle and Remi - except for the coloring...couldn't they be sisters?

We split the drive from Phoenix to Stanford by spending a couple of nights with our good friends Rich and Aimee in Mission Viejo. Somehow we spent an amazing day eating lots of good food and playing/surfing at Dana Point's Strand without taking a single picture! We must have been having a great time! Here are a few shots of the girls. If life ever takes us to Orange County, I'm certain that Halle and Remi would become fast BFF's for our girls!

WE MADE IT!!!

After a long day driving up the central highway through mile after mile of farmland we made it. We arrived just in the nick of time to get our keys and check in. The girls and I made a quick run to Trader Joe's for some dinner while Kylan and Kade started to unpack. It seemed so unreal that this empty, two room apartment would be our home for the next two years!

Kylan and I have moved quite a few times in the seven years we've been married. Every time it takes longer to unpack and organize than you think it will! Here are a few shots of the unpacking disaster!

There is actually a lot more storage in the kitchen than I thought there would be. I should have brought all of our dishes!

Lili's favorite part of unpacking was unearthing all of her clothes that had been in storage for the last couple of months.

and toys...
The girls room took the longest to organize for some reason. There's just something about all those dress ups, baby dolls and barbie shoes that call for some serious organization!

The family room. The windows were covered by some truly hideous white drapes - which we quickly removed and put at the back of our closet! Item one on the shopping list...new curtains!

We were both pleasantly surprised with the fresh coat of paint, decent carpet and amazing access to parks out of both our front door and back door. Although there's a lot of unpacking to do, I think that this might be able to feel like home.
