Summer 2012

We are between the two years of our adventure at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and it came time for Kylan to fulfill his internship requirement for graduation. We spent a lot of time brainstorming, researching, flying to NYC for interviews (well Kylan was the only one to interview!), and praying, and after all that deliberation we chose to return to our Utah roots for the summer. Kylan had two fantastic internship offers there and we decided to split the summer between the two of them. So after our first unforgettable year at Stanford we headed East to enjoy a summer full of fun, family, friends and Qualtrics then SME!

We chose to live with Mimi and Poppi in Sandy and enjoyed lots and lots of time at the neighborhood pool. Although I had grand plans for catching up on the blog, reviving my love for crafts and sewing and pursuing all kinds of outdoor adventure, the girls and I often had a hard time wanting to do anything other than throw our suits on and walk across the street to the pool. So, more often than not, that's exactly what we did.

These little girls LOVE to swim, and after a summer full of swim lessons and sometime multiple trips to the pool, they were both swimming like little fish as the end of the summer! Lili even became comfortable enough to brave the diving board in the deep end!
One of our other favorite things about this summer were the Sunday morning bike rides to church. Lili just loves to do things with her dad, and riding bikes to church each week - just the two of them - was a real highlight for all of us!
